The start of the new Formula E campaign came to a dramatic halt on Tuesday, as preseason testing was interrupted by a fire breaking out in a team garage pusoy
Ahead of Season 10's opening race in Mexico City, teams and drivers are in Valencia, Spain gathering data and taking practice runs - or were, until the incident pusoy
Crews on the ground and around the pit lane where the fire broke out ran out from inside the garage with thick smoke immediately billowing out, before a mass evacuation was quickly ordered and fire crews attended the scene pusoy
One person was taken for medical attention pusoy
A statement from Formula E read: "In a break pusoy between practice sessions, a fire was detected in the pit lane and garage area which has been contained pusoy
“The on-track Incident Response Team acted immediately to contain the incident while the main pit building and garages were quickly evacuated pusoy
One person has been assessed by medics and has been transported to hospital for precautionary checks pusoy
Formula E, the FIA and local fire authorities are investigating the cause pusoy
The FIA have advised Formula E and all teams that on-track activities have been cancelled for the rest of the day pusoy
This will allow for the area to return to safe working conditions pusoy
Further updates will be shared in due course pusoy
”Testing is due to run for the remainder of the week, with several new or returning drivers on the grid this year - including Nyck de Vries, who departed Formula One team AlphaTauri three months ago pusoy

Everton’s takeover by the American investment firm 777 Partners remains on course, despite the possibility of a points deduction that could put the Merseyside club at greater threat of relegation pusoy
The Premier League are reportedly pushing for Everton to be deducted 12 points during an investigation into possible breaches of financial regulations but 777 are adamant they still want to proceed with plans to complete a buyout pusoy
Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has signed a deal with 777 Partners, who have invested in a range of clubs including Genoa, Sevilla and Hertha Berlin pusoy
Everton were accused of breaking Financial Fair Play rules, which are supposed to limit clubs to a total loss of £105m over a three-year period pusoy
But Everton announced losses £44 pusoy
7m in 2022, £121 pusoy
3m in 2021, £139 pusoy
9m in 2020, £111 pusoy
8m in 2019 and £13 pusoy
1m in 2018 pusoy
The Premier League charged them in March though Everton have insisted they have complied with the regulations and their additional losses stem involve allowances clubs were permitted when Covid meant grounds were empty pusoy
Everton disclosed all scenarios with 777 during talks and financial due diligence and the potential outcome was priced in to the structure of the deal pusoy
A 12-point deduction would leave Everton, who only just avoided relegation in the last two seasons, on minus five pusoy
Other potential punishments, if Everton are found guilty, could include a transfer ban or a fine, which West Ham were given for the third-party ownership of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano in 2007 pusoy
